Biden the Apostate

Any honest observer recognizes that it was no accident that President Biden embraced “transgender day of visibility” even though it fell on the same day as Easter Sunday.

St. Augustine once commented on the distinction between the heavenly city and the Earthly city, writing, “Two cities have been formed by two loves: the earthly by the love of self, even to the contempt of God; and the heavenly by the love of God, even to the contempt of self. The former, in a word, glories in itself, the latter in the Lord. For the one seeks glory from men; but the greatest glory of the other is God, the witness of our conscience.”

Look no further for an illustration of this phrase “contempt of God” than the actions of our “devout” Catholic president, Joe Biden.

Any honest observer recognizes that it was no accident that President Biden embraced “transgender day of visibility” even though it fell on the same day as Easter Sunday. It is clear that Joe Biden has apostatized. It is not by his words that he has done so but by his deeds.

This disgraceful action is far from Biden’s first rodeo in endorsing sin. The “Catholic’s” presidency has borne egregious fruit, producing scandals that run contrary to the teachings of the Church. He never intended to be a faithful Catholic but wears his faith as a skinsuit to propel his political career forward. He’ll pay lip service to the Church, such as repeatedly referring to the Rosary his late son gave him, but he does not care about being a faithful Christian.

Biden has opposed the church on almost every major issue. Abortion, homosexuality, transgenderism, the list continues. Worse, he willingly invited the scandalous Fr. James Martin to the White House for a St. Patrick’s Day party. Birds of a feather, I suppose.

Easter Sunday was the culmination of Biden’s phony Catholicism. While faithful Christians sang the Exsultet as Christ opened the gates of heaven, Biden prepared to celebrate the “transgender day of visibility.” To make matters worse, the Biden White House banned all religious designs on any of the Easter eggs displayed or depicted in the Children’s Art Contest. But on cue, Biden denied he did this, responding to a reporter who asked about the controversy, “I didn’t do that.” Should it be mentioned that the word holiday comes from the word “Holy Day.” I think it’s evident which Holy Day Biden celebrates.

Surprisingly, even the liberal Cardinal Wilton Gregory of Washington D.C. criticized Biden’s blatant failure to practice his faith. In an interview on Face the Nation, his eminence said that the president “picks and chooses dimensions of the faith to highlight while ignoring or contradicting other parts.” Cardinal Gregory even called Biden a “cafeteria Catholic.”

When pressed further on the topic, Cardinal Gregory continued to chastise Biden’s unfaithfulness, stating, “Especially in terms of the life issues, there are things he chooses to ignore, or he uses the current situation as a political pawn.” Cardinal Gregory sees what everyone else sees; Biden does not serve the City of God. Does that mean the Cardinal will have his Ambrosian moment and bar Biden from entering the National Shrine or any other Catholic church until he repents? One can only hope.

Biden the Apostate seeks to uproot any element of an authentic Christian culture and promotes instead the religion of liberalism. June will be for Pride, not for the Sacred Heart. Abortion will be healthcare, not a horrific slaughter. Biden, just like Julian the Apostate, will pervert and abuse Catholicism as a vehicle to advance his liberal crusade.

What can a faithful Catholic do against such evil? The first recourse, as always, must be prayer. As wicked as the Biden administration’s actions have been to the nation and our faith, Biden is made in God’s image and likeness. We have an obligation as Catholics to pray for our lost brother and pray that the leader of the nation confesses his horrible sins and comes back to the true faith.

But the Church must excommunicate Biden. Excommunication gets thrown around too often, but here it cannot be more evident: Biden serves the City of Man. The calls for excommunication and chastisement have only become louder, particularly with the addition of the voice of prominent German Cardinal Gerhard Müller.

In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Cardinal Müller stated, “It’s absolutely unacceptable that you can say you are a Catholic and promote and justify the killing of human persons, human beings [from] the beginning in the mother’s womb, until the last respiration [with] euthanasia… Killing of ill people, like in the Nazi times, is euthanasia.” Müller went on to say that Biden is “nominally a Catholic; in reality, he is a Nihilist. It’s cynicism and absolute cynicism.”

As Biden has apostatized, it is evident America has too. In 1956, New York City skyscrapers shone lights on Good Friday to depict the three crosses Calvary. Now, New York City lights up its monuments to celebrate genital mutilation and sodomy.

America was once a Christian nation and can be in the future. But the America of 2024 reflects much more of Babylon than any Christian polity. As Christians, and especially Catholics, our political situation is far from ideal. Our faith is not adequately found in any of the major parties, even in the best candidates. Worse off, the secularization of the West has created a post-Christian pagan nation, which is worse than being a pre-Christian pagan society. How can Catholics combat such an evil culture?

Thankfully, as we just celebrated, death does not have the final word, and Christ will return in his splendor to establish the New Jerusalem and “wipe away every tear” (Revelation 21:4). But while we wait for that time to come, Catholics must build an authentically Christian culture. This is a multifaceted task, and it involves building up the Church and the family with it. Catholics must adopt a Catholic perspective on politics or we will continue to receive presidential candidates as scandalous as Biden. It begins by first ousting the “Catholic” president and attendant liberal regime.

Biden is not a faithful Catholic, and Easter confirmed his apostasy. We will never have an authentically Christian culture when we have leaders whose “faith” is a matter of convenience. We need leaders who care about building up the city of God, even to the contempt of self.  Biden is not a faithful Catholic, and Easter confirmed his apostasy.Tweet This
