• Ronnie Lee Gardner was put to death in Utah this morning by firing squad (the first such execution in 14 years). Many people protested what they saw as a barbaric holdover from the past, but are firing squads actually a better means of of execution than lethal injection?

Speaking of movies, the trailer for the latest installment in the Narnia chronicles, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, was released yesterday. For being such a big fan of the books as a kid, I have to say that I haven’t seen any of these movies; they don’t particularly tempt me. And from the looks of this trailer, the latest entry seems to have little to do with what I remember of the book. What do other people think of the series? Should I give it a shot?
