Gay Is Queer and Queer Is Gay

There are legitimate efforts right now by dear friends of ours to go easy on the LGBs, to build coalitions on the trans madness aimed at kids. This comes with profound dangers.

There is a campaign well underway to separate “good gay” from all those other icky iterations that sully “good gay.”

It goes a couple of different but related ways.

One is that the LGBs are just fine, but the Ts? No, the Ts are nuts and have never really been part of the LGBs. The Ts are a recent addition that somehow snuck up on the LGBs and has become the tail that wags the dog.

The other way is with Queer Theory. They say LGBs are not now and have never been a part of Queer. Queer is something different and dangerous.

What is this Queer Theory that the LGBs have never been a part of? Large-brained atheist James Lindsay explains it often,

Queer Theory believes that oppression (especially in gender, sex, sexuality, but also ability status, fat status, etc.) comes from being unfairly placed into an identity category one doesn’t believe fits them, or that limits them. Characterization limits one’s potentialities of beingness.

He says,

The imperative in Queer Theory is to make the categories of sex, gender, sexuality, etc., seems absurd, and inapplicable, meaningless, and or oppressive, and to disrupt and support them, usually by being intentionally flamboyantly absurd in exaggerating performances of them.

Rod Dreher explains that Queer Theorists want to “queer” everything, including “queering the beach” by holding a Fat Beach Day. Anyone who has been to Rehoboth in recent years must know that Fat Day is every day at the beach. But this is inadvertent and not queering. Queering is the deliberate subversion of the beach bod ideal.

Writer/thinker Christoper Rufo says the revolutionaries “will invert each hierarchy—beauty, intelligence, strength, competence—until the system explodes.” Note his use of the word “invert” and recall this was a typical term used about homosexuals not that long ago.

All of this is to say that, according to them, LGBs do not fit this new category of “queer” because LGBs are supposedly happy with their sex and their sexuality. Therefore, they are, by the new definition, not queer or adherent to Queer Theory.

There are legitimate efforts right now by dear friends of ours to go easy on the LGBs, to build coalitions on the trans madness aimed at kids. And this makes a certain amount of sense. Who knows, perhaps over time, after we have put the T back in the bottle, which will never happen except maybe for kids, our allies in the LGBs will respond to our winsomeness and the wisdom of our ancient knowledge on human sexuality and eschew their sexual habits. Maybe they will at least agree with us on things like abortion. This is at least remotely possible. But it comes with profound dangers.

There are also some LGBs some may genuinely admire who are also quite good on taxes, immigration, free speech, western civilization, and poetry; Bari Weiss, Douglas Murray, Andrew Sullivan, Guy Benson, and Spencer Klavan come to mind.

And there is an out “gay” named Chad Felix Greene who has been condemning the common practice of pederasty in the “gay” community. Good for him. He recalls the days when he was 14 and knowingly committing acts of perversion with adult men. He is hoisted on shoulders and called a hero for calling this out, but he is still an out “gay.” But he must be protected by separating the picket fence “gay” from those nasty Ts, Queers, and fetishists we see so much of at mainstream “pride parades.”

One only has to look at the disgusting videos from recent “pride parades” to see that these are meaningless distinctions. What we see is that gay is queer and queer is gay. We see gay men parading naked. We see gay men committing unspeakable acts on each other. Yes, Andrew Sullivan may object. I don’t know if he does, but these are his people, not ours. It is all profoundly queer!

And anyone who goes to a “drag” event knows immediately that it is a “gay” event. As they stomp and prance and twirl and pose, these talentless creatures will prattle on and on about “gay.” And drag is but a short stutter step from trans. It is all connected. It is all from the grotesque underbelly of the sexual revolution.

“Queer theory” is of recent vintage; Foucault, Butler, and blah blah blah. At its heart, queer theory challenges the normality of “heterosexuality.” Even that is a made-up word in order to introduce the concept of the “homosexual.” What do sodomitical relationships do but challenge the normality of “heterosexuality”? And so many of us have fallen for this in the name of political expedience in the face of the trans child emergency. Again, this makes some sense, but the danger is that the Overton Window is moving so far so fast that we can never go back to a proper understanding that “homosexuality” is an evil that harms the participants, society, all of us, and that we can never accept it, even from people we like and who may be good on foreign policy.

We cannot let them get away with this.
