The Uhuru Three, members of a Black Nationalists group, seem to be the latest victims of the FBI and its ongoing war on political speech.

I am not a black nationalist, a black separatist, or any kind of black socialist revolutionary. However, I am deeply sympathetic to a group of them based here in Missouri and Florida. They seem to be the real deal and not like certain bougie Catholic race-mongers on social media. These folks seem to be the latest victims of the FBI and its ongoing war on political speech.

They were indicted for collaborating with Russians to—get this—influence a local election in St. Petersburg, and not the St. Petersburg in Russia but the one in Florida, the one with 250,000 residents. It was a race for mayor where the black nationalist candidate came in fifth. You can see the national security issue: as St. Petersburg goes, so goes the nation.

They were indicted for violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act because one of them went to a conference in Moscow nine years ago and entered into a relationship with a man the FBI said was acting in collusion with the Russian government. And they failed to register with the Justice Department that they were acting for a foreign government.

This Russian gentleman persuaded this American group you have never heard of—the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement—to generate a petition for the U.N. that talks about black genocide in the United States. By the way, the black genocide is real. Just look up the statistics on black abortions. Pro-lifers have been pointing this out sans Russian money for decades. This Russian gentleman also gave the Uhurus a whopping $12,000 to do a four-city tour promoting their petition. The Justice Department says they were a “malign influence” meant to sow chaos in the American political system.

This may put you in mind of other FBI actions in recent years. Remember a few dozen heavily armed FBI agents invading the home of pro-lifer Mark Houck a few years ago? His crime? Protecting his child from a rampaging abortion creep. And we know that Joan Andrews and crew are languishing in jail for peacefully praying in an abortuary. Federal charges in federal prison. Remember, also, the FBI monitoring moms and dads who opposed the imposition of the transgender agenda on their school children? And the FBI investigation into Latin Mass Catholics?

Does it seem like the FBI is out of control? Does it seem like the FBI and the Justice Department are going after political speech they don’t like, that their masters don’t like?  Does it seem like the FBI is out of control? Does it seem like the FBI and the Justice Department are going after political speech they don’t like, that their masters don’t like? Tweet This

The Uhurus did not need Russian collaboration to say what they have been saying for decades: that in their view, not mine, the U.S. is deeply racist, and that black people have been irreparably harmed even unto something like genocide. And who are the Uhurus going to influence anyway; 15 others in St. Petersburg, a handful of people in a pretty good but leftist bookshop in St. Louis?

And even if they are parroting Russian talking points, who cares? We are not at war with Russia. Our elites may be, but we aren’t. Let me know when Russian tanks roll down Walker Road in Great Falls, Virginia. I’m sure to be against it.

The elites of our country have been busy treasonizing political differences. I am not exactly indifferent to how things turn out in Ukraine. But, if Russia keeps Donbas and Crimea, it is no skin off my back. This is a regional fight. And if the Europeans want to keep the Russian bear at bay, they need to man up. But none of them have the military strength to resist. The grisly part is they expect American boys and girls to step in eventually. But, for me, I don’t think even one drop of American blood ought to be spilled there. This apparently makes me a traitor to the bloodthirsty Davosmen in Washington, D.C., and Brussels.

The FBI says Russians and their collaborators in the U.S. are sowing discord in the United States. Do you know who is sowing discord in the United States? The FBI and the Justice Department. How is it possible that an institutional man like me, and others like me, have now turned against the institutions we grew up trusting? Efrem Zimbalist Jr., these guys aren’t. Neither are they Eliot Ness and the Untouchables. But maybe they never were. Maybe the FBI has always been a problem. They have had a history of surveilling the political enemies of the state, but we went along because the enemy they were surveilling was not us. But now, the enemy is us.

The Uhurus were convicted this week. They face five years in federal prison. They proclaim their innocence and claim free speech.
