The Only Man Standing in the Way of Our Country’s Destruction

We’ve been warning this would happen: former President Donald Trump has been shot at a rally in Pennsylvania. Thankfully he survived the assassination attempt. As I’m writing this, it’s being reported that the shooter and at least one rally attendee have died. We don’t know anything about the shooter yet, but it’s not hard to guess the likely motive: fear of Donald Trump becoming president.

How did we get here?

It’s not like this happened out of the blue. Like I already noted, we here at Crisis, along with many other figures like Tucker Carlson, have feared that an assassination attempt would occur. After all, the enemies of Trump have stopped at nothing—literally nothing—to prevent him from stepping foot back in the White House.

The hatred toward Trump by the Left has long passed any reasonable opposition. Just last week The New Republic published a cover with Trump’s face digitally modified to look like Hitler. We’ve heard over and over that Trump will destroy our democracy, become a dictator, and that he’s “Hitler 2.0.”

Well, what should you do to Hitler? There’s only one answer: you try to assassinate him. Today we (rightly) lionize those who tried to assassinate Hitler (like Dietrich Bonhoeffer), so saying Trump is the New Hitler inevitably leads to someone trying to kill him. And the Left knew this all along.

At this point, the lines are as clear as they ever could be: if you love our country and want it to survive, you must vote for Donald J. Trump in November.

I don’t care if you don’t like his personality. I don’t care if you don’t like his position on many issues, including his at times squishy pro-life stance. I don’t care if you think he won’t be a good president. All that is irrelevant at this point. Our country is descending into chaos, and, like him or not, Donald Trump is the only person standing in the way.

He may not be able to stem the tide, but if anyone other than Trump is President come January, then the barbaric attacks on him in Congress, the judiciary, and by an actual shooter, will have been successful. We will have officially descended into a banana republic.

Right after being shot, Trump defiantly got to his feet, blood streaming from his ear, and raised his fist and yelled “Fight! Fight! Fight!” before the Secret Service took him away.

This is our charge. We must fight for our country, and that means we must fight for Donald Trump.
